Down East Boys - Amen CDAnd … his Featured Artists on this program are the Down East Boys, with songs from their current CD, Amen. He’ll visit with Ricky, Tony, Daryl and Stuart about their songs and why they include such strong messages. Included will be their new radio single, “Under The Blood,” as well as their recent hit, I Won’t Trade My Crown.

Finally … you’ll also hear from Jordan Wilburn (Wilburn & Wilburn); Susan Whisnant (Whisnants); Douglas Roark (Old Paths); and Mike Holcomb (Inspirations).

Greater Vision - The Ones that Got AwayGreenes - America CDPaul’s Featured Artists on the program for the weekend of July 21st are the Greenes. Headed by Tim Greene, this trio’s other members are Keith Skiles and Jason Gordon. You’ll hear four songs from their just-being-released CD entitled We Need America Again, including that title song. You’ll hear a Greenes classic they’ve brought back, Jesus’ Rocking Chair. Listen, too, for two encouraging new songs, I Will Hold You and Funeral For A Sparrow. You’ll find out what the Greenes are doing these days and why the “Tim Greene Trio” reverted to the original “Greenes” name.

And, Paul’s Artist Spotlight guests will be the Statler BrothersHarold and Don Reid, Jimmy Fortune and Phil Balsley. Although officially retired as a group, you’ll enjoy hearing why Southern Gospel music has always been a big part of what they do. Harold will have a funny story about how they managed to get on stage when they were just a teenaged Gospel quartet. And you’ll hear three Gospel songs in the distinctive Statler Brothers style.

Finally … Rodney Griffin of Greater Vision writes many of that trio’s songs, but also writes many songs for other groups. Some of those songs have become big hits for those other artists. Now Greater Vision has recorded a CD entirely of songs Rodney wrote that other groups have made hits. That’s why they called it, The Ones That Got Away. You’ll hear Rodney talk about doing this and about a few of the songs they chose to include. You’ll also hear four of the songs (two on each hour).

Jessica King - Work CDPaul’s Featured Artist on the weekend of July 14th broadcast is soloist Jessica King. She had quite a few radio hits back a decade or so ago, but hasn’t been singing much in recent years. You’ll find out why. And you’ll hear songs from her new recording, The Best of Jessica King – Work Of Heart, as she re-emerges on the concert circuit. The CD includes some of her best-known songs, but also a few new ones. Listen as she tells you about them … and why they’ve become extra special as she went through some difficult times in her life.

Plus, Paul will have an Artist Spotlight visit with the Bates Family, Tim and LaDonna Bates. You’ll find out why they’re now a duet rather than a trio, as they had been. You’ll find out why Tim was at first reluctant to do it that way. You’ll hear three of their brand new songs.

Finally … you’ll hear from Jonathan Taylor (the Taylors); Rita Pearson (the Diplomats); Gerald Wolfe (Greater Vision) and others.

We’ll visit with all four group members — Doug Roark, Tim Rackley, Jeremy Peace and Daniel Ashmore. Jeremy will explain which of the songs struck him as being his personal testimony in song.

And his special Artist Spotlight guest will be soloist Kelly Wright. He’s best known as a Saturday afternoon co-anchor on the Fox News Channel. But he sings, too. And you’ll hear some songs from his new “Goodness & Mercy” CD. You’ll find out why singing the Gospel is a passion of his — and how he integrates it into his worldwide news reporting schedule.

Finally … Ronnie Booth will tell you about a brand new website he and his wife have created; Casey Kemp (Declaration) will tell you about a new concept video they’re producing of their latest album’s title song; Tim Greene will tell you about the return of the Greenes’ big annual sing in Boone, North Carolina!
