Old Paths - His Name is JesusAll of the music on the weekend of December 15th will, once again, be Christmas music — celebrating this joyous season that just seems to be “made” for music! Likewise, artist comments will be pertaining to this most wonderful time of the year.

Collingsworths - ChristmasPaul’s Featured Artists on this program will be one of the most gifted of the family groups singing today — the Collingsworth Family. They’ll share half-a-dozen songs from their brand new Christmas CD entitled “Feels Like Christmas.” And it does! You’ll hear their renditions of some classic Christmas carols, including “Beautiful Star of Bethlehem,” along with some exceptional new Christmas songs. You’ll especially enjoy “My Gift Is Me,” sung by Olivia Collingsworth. We’ll talk with the family about why they did a Christmas recording and why (and how) they chose the songs they included.

And, in his Artist Spotlight is the Old Paths Quartet, another of the Southern Gospel groups doing brand new Christmas recordings this year, this one called “His Name Is Jesus.” You’ll hear that title song along with their quartet version of a favorite old carol and a new song that puts this whole Christmas celebration into proper perspective. Paul visits with group members Tim Rackley and Doug Roark.

Along the way, Paul will have brief visits with Quint & Debra Shepherd (the Shepherds), Jonathan Lester (Lesters), Mark Trammell (Mark Trammell Quartet), Ronnie Booth (Booth Brothers) and Greg Gainer (Mercy’s Well). Also, on the Headline Update, he’ll visit with Gerald Williams who, at the end of this year, is retiring his quartet, the Melody Boys Quartet, after 63 years.

Gospel Greats Top 20 CountdownOn the weekend of October 27th … it’s Paul’s monthly Top 20 Countdown Edition, based on Singing News magazine’s monthly chart appearing in the magazine’s November issue. The chart reflects airplay popularity of current Southern Gospel songs on radio stations across North America.

Old Paths - Right Now CDAnd … his Featured Artists on this edition is one of the most rapidly-emerging quartets out there today — the Old Paths. You’ll hear songs from their new CD entitled Right Now, including their current big hit, Battle Stand. You’ll also hear a very personal story from group member Doug Roark about a song that’s taken on additional meaning for him — The Blood On My Hands. And they’ll have a song that will encourage anyone involved in Christian service of any kind.

Plus, Paul’s other guests include Jon Epley (Inspirations); Gordon Mote; Jordan & Jonathan Wilburn (Wilburn & Wilburn); Michael Booth (Booth Brothers); Lauren Talley Alvey (Talleys).

Paul’s Featured Artists on the July 7th weekend edition are the Old Paths Quartet, with songs from their current “Wonderful Life” CD. You’ll hear all about their recent radio hit, “The I Of The Storm,” as well as several other songs from the album. We’ll visit with all four group members — Doug Roark, Tim Rackley, Jeremy Peace and Daniel Ashmore. Jeremy will explain which of the songs struck him as being his personal testimony in song.

And his special Artist Spotlight guest will be soloist Kelly Wright. He’s best known as a Saturday afternoon co-anchor on the Fox News Channel. But he sings, too. And you’ll hear some songs from his new “Goodness & Mercy” CD. You’ll find out why singing the Gospel is a passion of his — and how he integrates it into his worldwide news reporting schedule.

Finally … Ronnie Booth will tell you about a brand new website he and his wife have created; Casey Kemp (Declaration) will tell you about a new concept video they’re producing of their latest album’s title song; Tim Greene will tell you about the return of the Greenes’ big annual sing in Boone, North Carolina!
