Being the last weekend of the month, this is Paul’s official monthly Singing News Top 20 Countdown Edition, based on the radio popularity chart appearing in the magazine’s August issue. The survey is based on radio airplay of songs at leading radio stations which play Southern Gospel music across North America.
And … his Featured Artists on this program are the Down East Boys, with songs from their current CD, Amen. He’ll visit with Ricky, Tony, Daryl and Stuart about their songs and why they include such strong messages. Included will be their new radio single, “Under The Blood,” as well as their recent hit, I Won’t Trade My Crown.
Finally … you’ll also hear from Jordan Wilburn (Wilburn & Wilburn); Susan Whisnant (Whisnants); Douglas Roark (Old Paths); and Mike Holcomb (Inspirations).

Paul’s Featured Artists on the program for the weekend of July 21st are the Greenes. Headed by Tim Greene, this trio’s other members are Keith Skiles and Jason Gordon. You’ll hear four songs from their just-being-released CD entitled We Need America Again, including that title song. You’ll hear a Greenes classic they’ve brought back, Jesus’ Rocking Chair. Listen, too, for two encouraging new songs, I Will Hold You and Funeral For A Sparrow. You’ll find out what the Greenes are doing these days and why the “Tim Greene Trio” reverted to the original “Greenes” name.
Paul’s Featured Artist on the weekend of July 14th broadcast is soloist Jessica King. She had quite a few radio hits back a decade or so ago, but hasn’t been singing much in recent years. You’ll find out why. And you’ll hear songs from her new recording, The Best of Jessica King – Work Of Heart, as she re-emerges on the concert circuit. The CD includes some of her best-known songs, but also a few new ones. Listen as she tells you about them … and why they’ve become extra special as she went through some difficult times in her life.
Paul’s Featured Artists on the July 7th weekend edition are the Old Paths Quartet, with songs from their current “Wonderful Life” CD. You’ll hear all about their recent radio hit, “The I Of The Storm,” as well as several other songs from the album. We’ll visit with all four group members — Doug Roark, Tim Rackley, Jeremy Peace and Daniel Ashmore. Jeremy will explain which of the songs struck him as being his personal testimony in song.
On the weekend of June 30th . . . Paul’s Featured Artists will actually be three of today’s top Southern Gospel groups — Greater Vision, Legacy Five and the Booth Brothers — coming together to talk about, and share songs from, their brand new Jubilee 3 recording. They’ve done two Jubilee recordings previously, but you’ll find out how they’ve learned from those and why this one is so special. They’ve redone some classic Southern Gospel songs, but also have included a few new ones, including a reassuring new song written by Jim Brady.
Plus … with the nation of Canada celebrating their birthday on July 1st, Paul will salute Canadian Gospel artists via an Artist Spotlight segment with the Torchmen and a visit with High Valley.
