On this January 21^st weekend, the Jubilee is pleased to present another very special anniversary concert. On the recent New Year’s Gospel Jubilee, enLighten presented the celebration of Gold City’s 10^th anniversary.

Now, add another 10 years to that … as this weekend you can sit back and enjoy all hour and 35 minutes of their 20^th birthday party, which took place at the Graceland Community Church in Franklin, Tennessee, on May 21^st, 2000 … and featured the lineup of Jay Parrack, Jonathan Wilburn, Mark Trammell, and Tim Riley.

On the broadcast for the weekend of January 14^th … it’s a full 60 minutes of the best of the best … today’s top groups in Southern Gospel, delivering their best performances on the stage of Freedom Hall in Louisville during the 2008 National Quartet Convention. Yes, leading off with Gold City to the Booth Brothers and the Hoppers to Brian Free & Assurance … you’ll hear them all!

Then … how about one of those immortal Wendy Bagwell stories? Did you hear the one about the watermelons?

Finally, to round out the evening, it’s the first half of that 1986 Gold City concert performance in Charleston, South Carolina … titled Double Take … and featuring Tim Riley, Mike LeFevre, Ivan Parker, Brian Free and Garry Jones.

On the weekend of January 7th … the Jubilee leads off with another segment of that Inspirations project you heard part of on New Year’s Eve, the one recorded just a couple of years ago in the Daystar Studios in Ashland, Kentucky by the Inspirations … where the title tells the whole story, Favorites of 45 Years.

Then, it’s an encore of the recent Dove Brothers Live recording that was featured on this year’s New Year’s Gospel Jubilee. Even though the group was formed in 1997 and quickly made its mark within Southern Gospel, it is the Doves first live performance recording and, unlike most other “live” recordings released by Southern Gospel groups these days, it does not have a video counterpart..

Get ready for an hour and 20 minutes of great quartet singing by two of today’s top-line groups!

The Weekend Jubilee will return on the weekend of  January 7^th, as the next two weekends are occupied with special programming.

We invite you to join enLighten on the evening of Saturday, December 31^st, for the annual New Year’s Gospel Jubilee, beginning at 7 PM Eastern Time.

On this weekend of December 17th, the Jubilee brings you the second half of that very popular “live” recording from the year 1986 . . . the Cathedrals and Travelin’ Live . . .  the lineup at that time being Danny Funderburk, Mark Trammell, Glen Payne and George Younce … and the location for this concert … the Reynolds Auditorium in Winston-Salem.

Next, the clock is turned back seven years to September of 2004, as you listen to the highlights from that year’s National Quartet Convention performances. There are 16 of Southern Gospel’s favorite groups of that year included in this evening’s lineup … so, as we in radio like to say . . . let’s go to Louisville and the stage in Freedom Hall …
