Crist Family - Live-In-CharlotteBlackwoods - 1950'sThe Jubilee leads off on this weekend of October 20th where it left off last week … with more of the historic performances by the Blackwood Brothers Quartet as heard on WMPS Radio in Memphis during the 1950’s – the exact year we’re not able to tell you. These are from a CD that’s titled Memphis Golden Days, available at the Country Jamboree Breakfast Show in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, that’s hosted by the “R. W.” branch of the Blackwood family.

Then, you’re brought very much to the present with a 2011 performance by the Crist Family … titled Live in Charlotte and recorded at The City of Light located just outside Charlotte in South Carolina.

Melody Boys Quartet 60th AnniversaryLate in 2009 the Melody Boys Quartet celebrated their 60th anniversary in a grand performance at the Geyer Springs First Baptist Church in Little Rock, Arkansas. And, on this second weekend of October, you’ll hear the entire concert on the Jubilee.

Let us note that the Quartet will be retiring as of the end of this year, with their final performance a New Year’s Eve concert at the same church .

Then, the Jubilee has another piece of real Southern Gospel history for you … performances by the Blackwood Brothers Quartet as heard on WMPS Radio in Memphis during the 1950s – the exact year we’re not able to tell you.

The Jubilee leads off with the group singing several “old favorites” as recorded in three different churches during their California tour last Fall.

Then, it’s back a number of years, as your taken to Bethel Temple in Evansville, Indiana, and welcome early Ernie Haase and Signature Sound to the stage for their Stand By Me – Live performance.

Singing Americans, Live and AliveLeading off on this weekend of September 29th … as promised … you’re taken back to the Paramount Auditorium in Ashland, Kentucky . . . the year is 1984 and on stage are the Singing Americans.. . . as the Jubilee presents the second half of their much-acclaimed Live and Alive recording featuring Michael English.

Then, it’s back to Pigeon Forge for another much-more-recent performance, this one featuring the Triumphant Quartet. It was recorded in the Grand Resort Convention Center in this east Tennessee community. Included on the song list are ones that have become eternal favorites such as Old White Flag and The Great I Am Still Is.
