On this last weekend of October … the Jubilee has the second in a series of encore broadcasts of performances from June’s 2013 Memphis Quartet Show. From Saturday, the final evening of the four-day event … you’ll first hear from the Blackwood Brothers and Triumphant. Just as it took place on the stage in the Cook Convention Center, each group will sing a 30-minute set and then each return for a shorter set … a full 90 minutes of music total!

On the weekend of July 13^th, the Jubilee leads off with a performance by the Mark Trammell Quartet. It took place in 2011 at the First Baptist Church in Morristown, Tennessee … which is the hometown of Gerald Wolfe. Of course, the Greater Vision boys were on hand to make sure the evening was properly “launched!”

Then, to round out the evening … the clock is turned back 50+ years to 1961, as you hear the Blackwood Brothers from a recording titled On Tour. The location was the historic Long Beach Municipal Auditorium in Long Beach, California. Tonight … it’s the first half of this RCA Victor long-play album, with the balance to be heard on a future Jubilee.

On this weekend of January 12^th, the Jubilee picks up from last week, returning to the Municipal Auditorium in Long Beach, California … the year is 19-63 as you go On Stage with the Blackwood Brothers.  The group at that time consisted of Cecil Blackwood, J.D. Sumner, Bill Shaw, James Blackwood and Wally Varner.

Then, it’s full throttle back to the present … actually 2011 to be exact, for the Talleys. Yes, the Talley Trio and their hour-long concert titled He’s Alive. If you’d like to see as well as hear this performance, it’s available on both DVD and CD.

For the weekend of January 5th … the Jubilee brings you a full hour of solid traditional Southern Gospel music featuring the Primitive Quartet. It’s their 2006 Live in Ashland, Kentucky performance that’s available on both CD and DVD.

As the broadcast continues … you zip to the West Coast of America and the Municipal Auditorium in Long Beach, California … to listen to the first half of On Stage with the Blackwood Brothers! Yes, it’s historic Blackwood Brothers from 1963.

The Jubilee leads off on this weekend of October 20^th where it left off last week … with more of the historic performances by the Blackwood Brothers Quartet as heard on WMPS Radio in Memphis during the 1950’s – the exact year we’re not able to tell you. These are from a CD that’s titled Memphis Golden Days, available at the Country Jamboree Breakfast Show in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, that’s hosted by the “R. W.” branch of the Blackwood family.

Then, you’re brought very much to the present with a 2011 performance by the Crist Family … titled Live in Charlotte and recorded at The City of Light located just outside Charlotte in South Carolina.
