For the weekend of November 5th, Paul presents a very special edition…

Celebrating Squire Parsons’ Songs

A Living Legacy—The Songs Of Squire Parsons

A Living Legacy—The Songs Of Squire Parsons

For more than three decades, Squire Parsons has been one of the most beloved singers and songwriters in Southern Gospel music. His outstanding songs, notably Sweet Beulah Land, Look For Me At Jesus’ Feet, and many others, are indispensible to the rich tapestry of what we call Southern Gospel music. Now, friends of Squire and his songwriting have compiled an 18-song collection of songs written by Squire Parsons and recorded by many of today’s top artists — including eight newly-recorded songs, some of which involve singers from multiple groups singing together.

The new CD is entitled A Living Legacy—The Songs Of Squire Parsons. We’ll visit with the project’s architect, Jim Brady (of the Booth Brothers), find out why he did it, why he didn’t tell Squire until it was almost completed, and Squire’s reaction to it all. You’ll also find out why the project was donated to Squire as a fundraiser for his medical expenses.

Others with whom Paul visits (some of those who are also part of this special tribute CD) include Mark Trammell, Karen Peck, Arthur Rice, Tim Riley, Ronnie Booth, Brian Free and Jeff Whisnant.

In addition, Paul visits with Squire himself for a few songs from his own new recording that he did with his son,Samuel, called Father And Son.
