Paul’s Featured Artists on the weekend of August 24^th are one of Southern Gospel music’s most rapidly-rising family groups, the Browns — Shelly, Michaela, Adam and Andrew. They’ll have songs from their soon-to-be-released CD entitled Love Loud, including some songs family members had a hand in writing. (This is their first recording on the StowTown label headed up by Ernie Haase and Wayne Haun.) You’ll enjoy the musical variety and their thoughts about why they do what they do.

Plus … you’ll enjoy an Artist Spotlight visit with a relatively new Nashville-based quartet known as Mark 209. You’ll find out where that unusual name comes from. And you’ll hear songs from three different albums, including their most recent radio song, It Takes Faith.

Paul’s Featured Artists on the weekend of August 10^th is the trio known as Freedom — Josh Garner, John Rulapaugh and Jonathan Sawrie. Songs will be from an outstanding new recording called “Born With A Song.” They call it that because these songs are remakes of songs that were big Southern Gospel hits back when Josh and John were born — in the late 1970s. If you were around back then (and even if you weren’t), you’ll thoroughly enjoy these songs and the attention Freedom gave to making the songs sound pretty much as they did back then.

And, his Artist Spotlight guests will be the Browns with songs from a new CD of theirs called “Heritage Hymn Collection, Volume 2.” You’ll hear three songs from their CD, including a hymn they had recorded years ago when the family sounded (in Shelly Brown‘s words) “like a children’s choir.” It sure doesn’t anymore!

Finally, in Paul’s weekly Headline Update, he’ll be remembering Jeff Davis and tell you about a reunion tour for the DMB Band.

The first part of the evening on the weekend of September 22^nd is devoted to another “Live in Pigeon Forge” performance … this one by the much-loved and extremely talented Brown family out of LeMars, Iowa. This concert recorded about four years ago … and this Mama and her multi-talented children just keep getting better and better. So, if they come to your area, don’t miss them!

Then, you’ll experience a rewind … going back some 25 years and zipping over to the Paramount Auditorium in Ashland, Kentucky … where a very special group is singing. Listen as Jerry Goff introduces them . . . the Singing Americans … the year was 1984 and this is the first portion of their recording, Live and Alive. You’ll need to return next week when the Jubilee brings you the remaining segment of this classic, historic performance.

You’ll hear a fascinating assortment of their songs, all with varied but powerful messages.

His Artist Spotlight segment guests will be the Kingdom Bound Quartet from Jena, Louisiana. As he visits with David, Ross, Chad and Ben, you’ll hear songs from their current CD entitled “Call Jesus” — including that title song. You’ll find out where that group name came from, how they describe their unique singing style, and more.

Finally … Paul announces the winner of the Grand Prize in the Gospel Greats 2012 Great Annual Giveaway and you’ll hear some of the conversation as he broke the news to her.
