On the weekend of February 16th’s broadcast … Paul’s Featured Artist is Ivan Parker, one of Southern Gospel music’s best-known soloists. Take a trip down memory lane with Ivan as he digs deep into Gospel music’s past with new versions of some of his all-time favorite songs. Included will be his version of “Sail On,” a song made popular by the Imperials back in the 1970s. You’ll also hear the song Ivan says was among the first he sang, a song that’s still popular today. They’re from his new CD called Timeless Treasures.
You’ve seen and heard him sing with the Gaither Vocal Band at the Homecoming concerts. From 1998 to 2007 he was the bass singer with the Florida Boys. He’s Gene McDonald, and Paul visits with him during the Artist Spotlight segment. You’ll hear three songs from his new From Love To Love solo CD, including his version of one of the great all-time Gospel love songs, The Love Of God. You’ll also hear the very first song he sang to his son minutes after his birth.
Finally … listen for details about how you could win two nights at one of Southern Gospel music’s biggest annual events — the Singing In The Sun in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The winner also gets a hotel room for those two nights. Many of Southern Gospel music’s most popular artists will be there. The question remains … will you?
