On this Labor Day weekend throughout North America, celebrated in both Canada and the United States as sort of a “final blast” ending the summer season, we thought it’d be fun to collect into a group several of the Scripture verses that reference “labor.”
As you read each one, take a moment to ponder the words and consider what the writer is saying as relates to your own life:
You will eat the fruit of your labor;
blessings and prosperity will be yours. Psalm 128:2
Diligent hands will rule,
but laziness ends in slave labor. Proverbs 12:24
I sent you to reap what you have not worked for. Others have done the hard work, and you have reaped the benefits of their labor.” John 4:38
The man who plants and the man who waters have one purpose, and each will be rewarded according to his own labor. I Corinthians 3:8
May your labors in the days ahead bring joy to the Lord’s heart … as you are able to do it through Him with all of your strength and commitment … and in a manner that glorifies Him … and rewards you!
With the world around us in ever greater turmoil and as we pray for peace … let us be strengthened by what the Scriptures admonish: Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding! Proverbs 3:5
